1965 Chevrolet Factory Delco AM FM Radio 986101 Impala Caprice Biscayne WORKING

  

The model number is 986101. This is a real deal factory option made specifically for the 1965 Impala/Biscayne/Caprice and is very hard to find. I believe this radio will also work in a 1965 Chevelle and possibly other applications with a faceplate change. Please confirm your specific application. This radio is in good original condition as shown.

The chrome face is in nice shape with great shine and reflection. The lens is clean and clear with no cracking or yellowing.

All pushbuttons and dials work as they should. The case is very nice with no dents or damage other than surface corrosion as shown. The inner and outer knobs are included in great shape as shown.

The passenger side inner knob is the optional rear speaker fader. This radio is multiplex compatible. It can either be used as a single channel mono radio by using a multiplex eliminator plug or can function as a 4 channel stereo radio by utilizing a stereo multiplex adapter. In order to function, this radio must either use the multiplex eliminator plug or stereo multiplex adapter.

The radio will not function with one of these 2 items installed. The multiplex eliminator plug is included with this radio as shown. The radio has been in storage for decades and it would be a good idea to have it serviced before installation to ensure trouble free use.
