It could also be used on the sofa or an overstuffed chair at home. This was for ages 1 to 5 and was manufactured by the GEORGE C. KNIGHT COMPANY in Detroit, Michigan - car capital.. This one has a bit of age showing, but you can still see the red metal frame.
The plastic steering wheel is in good condition and still turns, as does the gear shifter / turn signal lever. The "seat belt" is intact, but the buckle has a bit of rust. The metal looks like it might be a little bent on the bottom rail that rests against the back seat, but not major. If you look closely at the seat, you'll find the patent pending number information. Folds up for more compact storage.
Keeps child occupied so they don't distract the real driver. The horn on this one still has spring, but I don't hear any sound. Not sure it made any. You could sand it, give it a fresh coat of paint and make it sparkle again. This is a wonderful drive down memory lane.
The last 2 photos are of what would have been the original box and an advertisement for these back in the day. Perfect for Vintage car shows, toy museums, displays, collections, or your use at home, etc. I can see this in a hot rod or roadster at the summer outings after the paint is restored.
