This is an original Small Block Chevy 327 engine block. The casting number is 3782870. The casting date is E 8 2 which decodes as May 8th, 1962. The front pas is stamped as follows: F0513RD 211681.

The F0513RD shows this block was assembled on May 13th, 1962 as a 327/300HP engine for a Corvette with a manual transmission. The "211681" is the partial VIN of the Corvette this block was originally installed in. The 3782870 was used in all 327 applications in 1962 so this block is applicable to many cars.
