OEM GM Pontiac #16 Cylinder Head 1968 400 HO Firebird GTO Grand Prix High Output

  

This is an original Pontiac #16 cylinder head. The Pontiac "16" head was used on many 1968 high performance applications including the 400HO engine in Firebirds, GTO, and Grand Prix models. The date code looks to be "C018" or "G018". I imagine this would be March or July 1st, 1968 but I'm not sure.

Please confirm your specific application. This head is in good original condition as shown. It just came out of the estate of a collector where it had been in cool, dry storage for decades.

The head has been checked for cracks with none found and is guaranteed to be crack free. The head is complete with valves, springs, retainers, etc as shown.

I see no breaks, repairs, or modifications to this head. All threads are in good condition with no helicoils or thread inserts. All valves look to sit high in the seats as shown. This is simply a very nice original core head for rebuilding.

Rebuilding can include guide/seat work, valves, springs, etc. That said, this looks like an awesome head to work with.
