Vintage Huffy Wheel Rail Banana Seat Muscle Bike Blue Glitter Steering Wheel Kit

  

A used Huffy Blue Glitter Steering Wheel. This is the stock wheel for the Huffy Wheel steering wheel bikes in the late 1960's. The wheel is in decent shape, it has no cracks or breaks in the plastic and shines ok.

The middle where the cap mounts the the wheel is ok, with some marks from someone trying to pry the cap off the wheel. The middle is a little mishapen from age but can be heated with a hair dryer or heat gun and moved back into shape.

There are also some scratches from use on the outside edges of the wheel that may be able to be sanded a little smoother. I polished this wheel but did not sand the scratches at all, so with a little work they may sand much smoother. The problem area on this wheel is near the center ring on each arm. Something was scraping on the wheel in that area and put a scrape mark on each arm. The raised edges of the arms are worn down as a result of the scraping, and in some areas the raised edge is scraped totally off.

The scraped areas on the flat part of the arms may be able to be sanded with a fine grit paper and polished to where the silver foil decals would cover the area and make is less noticable, but I don't have a solution for the raised side edges being gone. The wheel has a reproduction steering wheel cap, some paper printed dragster inserts for the cap, and reproduction silver foil stickers for the steering wheel arms. The reproduction cap has a slight yellowing to it and actually has a vintage look to it. The paper dragster inserts are white color on one and slightly yellow color on the other, in case you want to go with a vintage yellowed look. Use it on a Huffy Wheel or Rail or on a Schwinn Stingray, Krate, or Fastback.
